Mold (fungi) is present everywhere – indoors and outdoors. There are more than 100,000 species of mold.
Mold frequently grows in hidden places – behind gypsum wall board, under floors or behind cabinets or appliances – and is often not visible. Stucco inspection often reveals that moisture is getting into wall cavities and mold growth sometimes black mold occurs unseen. Often mold remediation will become necessary when stucco cracks necessitate a stucco repair. When moisture builds up from leaky pipes or roofs, high humidity, or basement flooding, conditions will be ideal for mold growth. Molds are easily disturbed and their spores can become airborne, getting into our noses, mouths and lungs. A mold inspection by an environmental consultant along with mold testing can determine if you need mold remediation. If mold testing is unnecessary a reputable environmental consultant will tell you so.
